At La Martina Veterinary Clinic, we provide primary care services focused on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the most common diseases in pets. Care is provided exclusively by appointment, allowing us to offer personalised service tailored to the needs of each patient.

Clinical cases that require it will be referred to veterinary hospitals and/or specialists.

We have a fully equipped operating theatre, designed to ensure maximum safety and efficiency in every surgical procedure. The operating theatre is equipped with advanced anaesthesia and monitoring equipment, allowing for precise control of the patient throughout the procedure and optimal recovery afterwards. We perform scheduled surgeries, surgeries typical of general veterinary practice, always under strict protocols of asepsis, anaesthesia and animal welfare. As with our consultation service, cases that require more complex/specialised surgical techniques, or those deemed necessary by our vet, are referred to specialist centres or specialists.

At Clínica La Martina, we offer a day hospital service (exclusively during the day) for patients who, following surgery or a general consultation, require observation, treatment or recovery for several hours before returning home.

This service allows for continuous clinical monitoring and administration of necessary care in a controlled environment, without the need for overnight admission. We have two separate hospitalisation areas: one for dogs and another exclusively for cats and infectious animals. This separation is a great advantage, especially for cats, given their sensitivity to noise, change and the presence of other animals.

The feline hospitalisation ward is also equipped with special boxes for maximum comfort, designed to minimise stress and promote a peaceful and safe recovery.

Animals that require it due to their condition will be referred to 24-hour hospitals/clinics where they can be hospitalised on a continuous basis.

At Clínica La Martina, we offer a comprehensive and exclusive Traumatology and Orthopaedics service, led by Dr Javier López Castillo, Clinical Director of Hospital Veterinario Al Sur, who specialises in Traumatology, Orthopaedics, Surgery and Soft Tissues.

Dr López Castillo, a renowned specialist in his field, holds consultations and performs scheduled surgeries at our facilities. These sessions are organised when several patients requiring trauma or surgical care are grouped together.

Currently, in both human and veterinary medicine, non-invasive diagnostic imaging techniques have established themselves as valuable tools for obtaining accurate clinical information and guiding treatment appropriately.

At Clínica La Martina, we have high-resolution equipment in two key areas:

• Direct digital radiology: we have state-of-the-art digital equipment with specific software adapted to veterinary needs, which allows us to obtain high-quality images immediately and with minimal exposure for the patient.

• Ultrasound: the centre offers a general ultrasound service, where ultrasounds are routinely used to examine the abdominal cavity and assess its various organs, as well as for reproductive or soft tissue studies.

More specific or complex radiographic or ultrasound studies are referred to hospitals and veterinary centres of reference, where they are assessed by specialists in diagnostic imaging, thus ensuring maximum accuracy and quality in the diagnostic process.

At La Martina Clinic, we collect biological samples, either during routine consultations or during surgery, for analysis at specialised external veterinary laboratories. This collaboration allows us to guarantee accurate and reliable results in a very short time, facilitating rapid diagnosis and more effective clinical decision-making.

The samples sent include, among others, haematological, biochemical, cytological, microbiological and anatomopathological analyses, depending on diagnostic requirements.

For tests or cases that require it, patients will be directly referred to hospitals/specialised centres.

At Clínica La Martina, we work by appointment only, as our veterinary surgeon also provides services in the field, particularly in the area of equine medicine, specialising in reproduction and obstetrics, among other areas.

However, we understand that, as we are dealing with lives, emergencies can arise at any time, just as they do in human medicine. In the event of an emergency, there are nearby veterinary hospitals and clinics that offer 24-hour emergency services, where your pets can receive immediate and continuous care in critical situations. Clínica La Martina maintains communication and coordination with referral hospitals, facilitating, when necessary, referral and subsequent clinical follow-up, with the aim of offering comprehensive, safe and quality care.

At Clínica La Martina, we offer a wide range of equine medical services, both in the field and at our facilities (administrative procedures). General consultations, check-ups and dental balancing, using state-of-the-art equipment that guarantees precision, safety and comfort for the animal. Individualised vaccination and deworming guidelines, adapted to the needs of each horse according to its age, activity and environment.

Equine reproduction and obstetrics are one of the clinic's most prominent areas of work. We provide specialised care for pregnant mares, comprehensive reproductive monitoring and assistance during birth and for newborn foals, a field in which our veterinary surgeon works with particular dedication, commitment and enthusiasm.
